Show us your parts entry - Fred Butler!

What did Fred Butler have to say about his ride?
My bike is a 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Venture. I decided to do something a little "Peculiar" and hand fabricated oak accent pieces throughout my bike. I started with the oak floor boards with a "Spades" design and kept going from there. The oak floor boards are hand carved and have been on since 2007 and still look like new! I also added oak to the dashboard. (See photos attached.)
The oak accents visually compliment the "Galaxy Blue and Raven Black" coloration of the bike.
Also, all custom leather work on the seat and bags were designed and hand made by me from one solid piece of cowhide. I started with the seat and kept going from there.
I have added many chrome pieces which work visually with the leather and the hard oak wood. I get many compliments wherever I go as people are surprised to see all of the handcrafted pieces especially the "wood".
It also has a 300 watt amplifier and (2) Bose 401 speakers which are contained in the hatch back. You don't know it's there but when I turn up the volume it's like you're listening to your in home stereo system. The sound is unbelievable! Note: I drilled holes in the hatch back to let the sound out when the hatch is closed. The holes are covered with custom leather accents. (When you look at the bike you don't notice the holes.) Everything is concealed in plain sight.
Finally, my bike won the "President's Award" at the 2009 Yamaha Star Days convention which was held in Billings, Montana.
As you can tell, I'm very proud about the way it looks and how much fun I had in it's development. It's truly a labor of love and .... ain't it Peculiar?
