| My bike is the best bike because…well…it is mine. She is instant stress relief and the best therapy I can find. But you have probably heard that before. My ’09 Star Raider is a beautiful blend of color, chrome, brushed metal, and style without being gaudy or sinister. No skull, flames, spikes, or spiders, but it carries a patriotic theme of red, white, and blue befitting this old veteran who owns her. She has a pinstriped full-wrap front fender, tank, sidecovers, and rear fender complemented by embroidery on the custom studded seat. Her chin bib spoiler carries a custom grill. Chrome from Yamaha, Baron’s, Aeromach, and Kuryakyn set off her metalflake black base color. Performance is enhanced by Cobra Swept exhaust pipes, and a Baron’s Stealth BAK allowing use of Baron’s billet chrome accents on both sides of the 113 cid engine that twists a 240 mm tire. Her patriotic theme climaxes with a speedometer face and dash badge of Old Glory flowing toward the rider and hints of bald eagles against the flag.. Oh yes, she’s a looker and she turns heads wherever we go. But her best quality is the thrill of twisting the throttle on an open road, feeling the wind against my chest, and feeling that uncontrollable smile grow across my face. Her license tag reads ZPD2DAH, and when I’m riding her, \“everything’s going my way.\” |
