| Glenn from Oak Brook, IL writes: This bar comes as advertised, at least for my VTX1800F. Some of the previous reviews I had read had me concerned, particulary about fit. Due to my concerns, I called Baron directly and they were both extremely helpful and reassuring. As of my February, 2010 purchase, the bar is exactly as advertised. And so far, I would say that it does greatly reduce the stress in my shoulder as they have claimed. Unlike previous reviewers, I found that there are in fact 2 pre-drilled alignment holes for the controls. The stock cables do fit just fine and without much routing effort. The hardest part of the installation was getting the old left-side handgrip off intact. After that, it was a 30 minute installation. Please note that the stock VTX1800F bar is already extended back toward the rider pretty far. The X-bar brings it back a bit more, but the big difference is the bar angle at the handgrips. At that point they point more towards the rider rather than flaring away as much as the stock bar. This makes for a very nice riding position, thus reducing stress to the shoulder. Boy, I sure wish I had this on my old 2001 Sabre! I don't write many reviews, but I wanted to clear-up any confusion on this bar, at least as it related to my VTX1800F, Spec 2.
Dear Baron, The X-Bar is a dramatic improvement over the 1800C stock bar. It provides about 2" more pullback and a better grip angle that results in more natural hand position and an overall more comfortable ride. Instead of a long reach to the bar, I can sit up straight and still have my elbows comfortably bent so my arms, shoulders and back are more relaxed. And I didn't have to swap any cables or hoses.
